SMRO's main focus is motorcycle safety and rider education. Therefore, in order to participate in a SMRO ride, each operator needs to meet the following requirements: 1. A valid drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement. 2. Proof of motorcycle insurance. 3. A motorcycle with valid registration and inspection. 4. Proper riding attire: DOT approved helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, and pants. Quite simply, please do not show up for the ride in jeans, a sweat shirt and sneakers. While the pace will be a relaxed one, please wear the type of gear that will be your only level of protection between you and the pavement below. Your tour guides are devout believers in armored protective gear, and we trust that you are to.
Riders must register with a SMRO ride leader at the meeting location no less than 15 minutes prior to the stands up time for the ride.
In addition, riders need to attend a SMRO Rider Briefing prior to participating in their first SMRO ride. The briefing will be held 10 minutes prior to the stands up time for the ride. All riders are encouraged to attend the briefing on subsequent rides as well.
